- Regional
Conventions/Competition - Each spring
our chorus participates in a regional convention. We sing
two songs, an up tune and a ballad. Many of our rehearsals
are devoted to preparing for this performance, thus honing
our skills and presentation for all of our music.

- Sing-Outs -
Periodically, organizations may request that
our chorus perform at their meeting or any special occasion.
This provides us with the opportunity to reach out to our
community and share the art of harmony.
|
- Chorus Shows -
Performing for the public is one reason many
of us joined Sweet Adelines. The chance to sing and dance on
a real stage, dressed in sparkly costumes is a dream come
true for many women. To this end, our chorus organizes an
annual show. Because show production requires many months of
planning and committee work, all of us are involved. Not
only is our annual show a priKay fund-raiser for the year,
but it also is a major catalyst for friendships formed as we
work together. Our last several shows have been held in
November at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stowe, PA.

 |
Show themes can be as varied as:
- The Post War Era
- Matinee Melodies
- Broadway
- Walt Disney
|
 |
- Retreat -
As a part of our preparation for the annual competition and
our annual show, our chorus schedules weekend retreats for
coaching. We work hard on the risers Friday evening, all day
Saturday and Sunday morning. The skills we polish at the
retreat help us move forward toward higher levels of
performance. However, it is not all work; retreats are one
more way we forge the friendships that help us to become a
cohesive performing unit.

- Installation
Dinner - To honor our newly
elected leaders and to recognize those who have been our
leaders for the previous year, we host a special dinner
event in May. At this dinner new Board of Directors and
Officers are installed in a special ceremony.
|
- Holiday Party
- Our holiday party is usually
held on our rehearsal night in December. It is a time for
food and fun and enjoyment of the season.
|
- Come Sing
with the Sweet Adelines Each
year we join a local high school Adult Evening School
Program. These rehearsals are advertised in an Evening
School brochure as an invitation to women who like to sing
and perform for an audience and who wish to be prospective
members. Past years were held at Owen J. Roberts School.
Check with us for details.
